After not having a formal birthday party the past two years due to COVID, we had another birthday party for Ethan, this time travelling to his Aunt's house who hosted the party.

Happy Birthday again, this time in the back yard.
Bounce house for the kids. Everyone got to enjoy it, the little kids, the teenagers, even some adults. It really got me tired, as if I wasn't tired enough managing the party.

Cupcakes for the kids and guests. I bought designer cupcakes from a local bakery and brought a few from home made from left over batter from a test cake. Guess which ones the kids liked the most. Yes, the left over chocolate cup cakes with the store bought vanilla icing.

We made a "mermaid cake" which was supposed to be marbleized in different color batter. I should have just stuck with a white cake or chocolate cake making it on short notice. The purple icing was by design and we had made it from freeze-dried strawberries, bringing it along with us for decorating the big cup cake.
