Soccer Tots

In an effort to get Ethan out of the house and expend more energy, we enrolled him in soccer lessons called "Soccer Tots" for ages 2-3 years old. I'm not so much worried about him learning soccer as much as I want him to meet other kids his age and run around. Sessions are on Saturdays early in the morning so it is a drag to get there. Fortunately everything for this age group is indoors so we don't have to worry about the weather.

Class consists of drills followed by open floor, there isn't an organized game. Not at these ages. You can really see the difference between the 2 year olds and 3 year olds. The 2 year olds run around and do their own thing while the 3 year olds at least try to complete the drills. Its a success if Ethan stays in the room.
He doesn't know that he is supposed to kick the ball not carry it.

Drills on day one. We just went in street clothes. That morning I found out that the coach actually coaches the parents, not the kids.

Ethan like playing with the cones not walking around them for the drill.

Of course he is on the wrong side of the net too. He prefers the back side of the goal.

He likes to hide behind me during the team huddle.

He really likes playing in the net.

Here are the 2 year olds who do their own thing. 15 minutes into class, myself and the other parent switch 2 years olds and we actually get some practice accomplished.

During open floor, Ethan just does what he wants. Today it was play with cones.
