I did not get photos of me installing the flooring. Sorry. We got white wood laminate flooring from Lumber Liquidators. I installed the flooring. This included the closet. I also removed, reinstalled, and painted the trim. The hard part was the custom cuts to fit into the closet. I worked from start to finish without a break and was so hungry, I wasn't hungry anymore. My back was aching because my body started eating my reserves. This is why I get sick.

You can see the flooring here in the shot of my work station for the closet |
There I am preparing the cleats for installation. I'm using the laser level again.
Here I am installing a cleat while wearing a shirt that is too small.
Here is the laser level I'm using to make sure the cleats are level across the closet. You can see the pocket-size level sitting on top of one of the cleats above my drill. I use this to make sure that my installation is level in addition to the laser.
Another shot of the laser level guiding me on where to install the cleats. This eliminates the need for lots of pencil marks on the freshly painted wall.
All the cleats are in place and the top shelving has been installed. I also added trim to the shelving and the front of the closet for a clean finish.
Now it is time to paint all of the cleats and the trim. This is the beginning of another day and I have put on a new gray shirt that actually fits.
While the cleats dry, I cleaned up the room and only left the essentials in the room: a drill, drill bits, water, Bluetooth speaker and tablet for music.
Me taking pictures.
Now I am installing the shelving after the paint dried. I decided not to screw the shelving in so I can remove it incase I want vertical storage. Since everything is level, the shelving sits flat on the cleats and I don't need to screw the shelves down.
Here is the finished closet. I decided not to put the doors back on because it looks nice like this. I put the doors in the shed in case I ever decide to put them back on.
Truth be told, I put the new flooring over the old flooring without removing it and the doors don't fit right now because they don't have enough vertical space. I still like it better without the doors. We may add another type of door in the future.
